Former Cruise CEO Kyle Vogt’s new robotics startup reportedly raises another $150M

The Bot Firm, the robotics startup based by former Cruise co-founder and CEO Kyle Vogt, has raised $150 million in a spherical led by Greenoaks, according to Reuters, citing unnamed sources.

Vogt based the startup with Paril Jain, who led the AI tech crew at Tesla, and former Cruise software program engineer Luke Holoubek. Vogt didn’t reply to a request for remark.

The contemporary spherical of funding comes lower than a 12 months since Vogt launched The Bot Firm, which is aiming to supply a robotic targeted on family chores. The Bot firm launched in May with $150 million from former GitHub CEO and investor Nat Friedman, Pioneer founder and investor Daniel Gross, Spark Capital common accomplice Nabeel Hyatt, Stripe CEO Patrick Collison, Stripe co-founder John Collison and Quiet Capital.

The brand new startup was launched about 5 months after Vogt resigned as CEO of Cruise, the autonomous automobile startup that he based in 2013 and was later acquired by Common Motors. His resignation adopted an October 2 incident that noticed a Cruise automobile run over and drag a pedestrian 20 ft, after the pedestrian had been hit by a human-driven automotive.
